Proboards' Terms of Service

As a result of this board being hosted by Proboards, members need to first agree with Proboards' TOS before they may join a board. Likewise, this board must also follow the TOS. Below is a copy of the agreement members find on the Registration page. Please review it.

Quote:
You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law. This is not only humorous, but legal actions can be taken against you. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to this forum.

Note that it is impossible for us to confirm the validity of posts on this forum. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages and are not responsible for their content. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented. The messages express the views of the author, not necessarily the views of this forum. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator of this forum immediately. We have the rights to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum, and any related websites to this forum. We at this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information posted by you.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another member, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another member's account to post messages or browse this forum.

After you register and log into this forum, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

You are solely responsible for any and all attachments that you post to this forum. You may not post files to this forum which contain copyrighted material that you do not have permission from the author to post.

 Board Policy

Board Policy

This message board is Family Friendly. This means that everything posted on this board must be rated PG-13. Anything one wishes to post which is not must either be marked in the thread, a [Mature] tag in the Subject title of the first post, or conducted through the PM system. Due to Proboards TOS [see above], all writers on the board must be 13 years of age or above.

Member's real names and email addresses are never given out. We only require an email address so that we may contact the writer about their Ad in the Listing (including registering for the forum). Emails are hidden on the site, unless the writer chooses not to.

While censors are not in place on the forum, vulgar language is greatly frowned upon. In most cases it is caught early, the post modified, and actions taken against the writer (including contacting them about their language usage)

Should a thread become controversial or appear to be heading in that direction, the administration locks, moves, or deletes the thread. We try to keep the forum a safe environment for everyone.

We do track IP addresses, but rarely find reason to use this feature. The only reason we would utilize it is if someone needed to be banned from the site.

 Board Registration

Board Registration

Registration on this board is very easy. By clicking the Register link at the top of the page, you will be brought to a page where you may select your user name, password, provide your e-mail address, and agree to Proboards' TOS.

The Administration asks that when you register at the board to choose a user name that you will be able to remember. However, we do ask that you choose an appropriate user name. Nothing offensive, please. We only ask that you make it something you can remember.

After registering at the board, you will need to wait until an activation code is sent to the e-mail address you had provided on the Register page. If you do not receive you activation code, you may need to provide a different e-mail address, or request is to be sent again. AOL accounts seem to experience this problem most frequently. If you have an AOL e-mail address but also have a Yahoo one, for instance, perhaps it would be better to use your Yahoo address.

Account Activation is Disabled.

 General Board Rules

General Board Rules

1. Be mature. Treat people as you would wish to be treated.

2. Swearing is allowed to some extent, but it is to be kept limited and not used constantly.

3. Do not put anyone down.

4. Do not give out any passwords.

5. Only post your advertisement in the Listings area and refrain from advertising in any other parts of the board.

6. Do not spam the board.

7. Signature Banners/Pictures, can be no larger than 500 by 250. This is to cut down on the amount of space they take up. It is annoying to always be scrolling past large signatures or graphics. Images found that are larger than this will be removed.

Overall, this board is PG-13 and everything posted should be kept to such.

 Listing Rules

Listing Rules

1. Only the board Admin or Admin Team Member may post an Ad in the Listing.

2. One Ad per Message Board. If your Message Board falls under more than one of the Categories given, place it in the Category that best describes your board.

3. No Bumping Ads. Members who bump their Ad will be warned. If it continues their Ad will be removed and the member banned from the site.

4. Please refrain from using any colors in your Ad. This is so your ad will be readable to those who visit it.

5. Any graphics used in your Ad must be at most 500 x 250, per the General Board Rules. Graphics found larger than this will be removed.

6. You must use the Template provided in the beginning of your Ad. Ads that do not use the Template will not be accepted. Templates will be found in each of the Category boards of the Listing.

7. You must be a Registered Member of Accio Listings to post your Ad.

8. When your Ad is Approved it will be moved to the "Approved Advertisements" sub-board of the Category. Members will not be able to post threads in the "Approved Advertisements" sub-boards. They will be able to modify their threads and reply to threads however this is only to be used to keep your Ad up to date.

9. Listing Boards will be gone through once a month. Inactive or Dead boards will be removed from the Listing. A list of the Ads removed will be posted in a thread labeled "Monthly Checks" with a date of when the last check was performed. You will most likely not be informed if your Ad is removed, so check back periodically to check your Ad, as well as keep your Ad updated.

10. You must have Accio Listings button or an Advertisement with a link back to Accio Listings up somewhere on your board. If you do not have one or the other, your Ad will not be Accepted. You may find the ways to Link Accio Listings back here.

 FAQ

FAQ

Listing

Q: Why do I need to register just to post my Ad?
A: We require you to be a registered member of Accio Listings in order to post your Ad because we encourage those who Advertise here to come back and update their Ad. As Guests, you would not be able to come back and Modify your post. This way, if your plot line takes a new twist or you have something even more cool to add to your Ad you may do so easily.

Q: Do I need to have a certain number of posts in order to post my Ad in the Listing?
A: Absolutely not! We encourage members to stay and chat with other members but we understand that some people are only interested in posting the Advertisement and hence why we do not require you to have a certain number of posts in order to post an Ad.

Q: Why can't I use any colored text in my Ad?
A: Colored texts are often abused in Ads. People do not take into account how the color will affect the ability of people to read their Ad. To keep the readability of all Ads at a good level, we have decided against allowing colored text.

Q: Why hasn't my Ad been moved to the "Approved Advertisements" yet?
A: This could be for several reasons. You may not have accurately filled out the Ad. Here at Accio Listings we require members to use a Template in the beginning of their Ads. If you do not use the Template your Ad will not be Approved. If there are Problems with your Ad an Admin or Moderator will reply to your thread or PM you with what needs to be fixed. Another reason that your Ad has not yet been moved may simply be that an Admin or Mod has not yet gotten time to do so yet. Please be patient. Your Ad will not be moved instantaneously.

Q: What if my board falls under more than one of the Categories listed in the Listing?
A: If this is the case, we ask that you choose the category that best reflects the nature of your board. You may only post your Ad once and in one Category so choose the one the best fits your board!

Q: My Ad has been removed, why?
A: Ads may be removed from the Listing if the board they are advertising has become inactive or dead. If this is the case, check the "Monthly Checks" thread in the main board of the Category you posted in and look to see if your board is listed. If your board has not fallen inactive and the thread is gone, it may either have had problems within the thread or the user who posted it or it may have accidentally been deleted. If you wish to know for certain, contact an Admin or Moderator.

Q: Do I have to put the Accio Listings' button up on my site?
A: No. We have opted to allow members to instead post an Advertising thread for us in their Advertising area. So do you have to put our button? No. Do you still have to Link us Back? Absolutely! Just like any advertising place, both parties want to receive.

Q: What happens to an Ad that is removed?
A: Ads that are removed from the Listing are sent to the Ad Grave Yard. The Ad Grave Yard is a Category that only the Admins and Mods can see. When Ads are removed they are sent there for storage in case there comes a time when that board is revived or something along those lines.

Miscellaneous

Q: What is Karma/Notoriety?
A: Karma is just a fun thing that Administration left active for the enjoyment of the members. If someone does something you like, or made a good post, you Exhalt/Charm them (giving them a point). If they did something you hate, or made a bad post, you Smite/Curse them (taking a point). However, you can only give/take Karma points once every hour.

Q: How do I become a Moderator at Accio Listings?
A: Moderators are chosen based on the dedication to Accio Listings and maturity level. Admin or Moderator Positions are not just handed out but given the Main admin to people who have proven themselves trustworthy.

Q: What is there so some sort of Problem? Who do I contact?
A: If there are any problems, please bring it to the attention of a Moderator or Admin. Please do not try to resolve the issue yourself, you may only end up making things worse.
